You’ve either been following RageEffect for a while now or you’ve just stumbled upon our website and suddenly you’re asking yourself

What is so special about RageEffect, and where does it come under in today’s RTS market?

Well I’d like to simply say it’ll knock the socks off Supreme Commander 2 and come in par with Starcraft 2, but that would be lying, we don’t have the credibility of a company like Blizzard or Gas Powered Games to engage an already captivated audience to any level… so we’re going to have to try a little harder than that.

I’m going to tell you our goals, our overall vision and what we want as gamers ourselves to achieve, play and share amongst friends and the world.

Now you’re probably aware that Xerios (Sam M. Lead Developer, Designer & Founder) has been working full-time between Exams on bringing a very powerful, high performance (on low & mid-range machines) RTS Engine written in C# and empowered by the XNA3.1 Development Kit.

What we’re going to achieve will be a Free 2 Play RTS that has the tactical enhancements of 3D RTS Gameplay similar to that of Supreme Commander but of the Gameplay lost in the old Command & Conquer series that Electronic Arts has failed to pick up on (rest in peace Westwood we love you).

Our vision will enable low to high end machines over 20,000 units running above average of 60-150fps rates moving around, shooting and in a gameplay fashion that would remind you of the old days playing Tiberian Sun, simple resource management and full on blast the hell out of your competition.

One of our unique features along side the classic deathmatch and team deathmatch is really influenced by playing so many FPS games like Team Fortress 2 capture the point levels encouraged a game mode that involves strategic elements of holding a point to rack up points to win a match. The player who can hold the point the longest truly is a master of defence and offence, something that not everyone could handle on their own especially the aggressive players, and then couple that with a 16 player environment and you’ve got one hell of a war for what could be the most ridiculous capture point in history, a hill.

To wrap this up and keep this short, there is only one last thing to cover without revealing too much, yes there will be strategic icons when you’re zoomed out, yes there will be customization when it comes to what unit types, mass destruction weapons and so forth, and lastly there will be a Lobby system client similar to that of Steam which will provide you the latest updates, and keep you connected to your friends without sharing ip address making completely free gaming even easier, we will include an online quick match, and match browser and an offline LAN game browser with the typical add favourite IP so finding a game or connecting to a game should be a breeze.

Stay tuned for some really hot new screenshots and videos.
